Potpourri,Simmering Pot Recipes

First I want to thank everyone for the well wishes for hubby and me,
as a new blogger I was quite touched,
we are much better, thank you so much,

I enjoyed everyone's Christmas Home Tours, you ladies are GREAT!
your houses are stunning,I will try to make a tour of mine this weekend,

in the mean time I wanted to share this with you all,
I love the TIP NUT website
they have many frugal tips,
this week they sent me recipes for Potpourri
I made #4 if we only had type and sniff,

Recipe #4 - Christmas Potpourri Simmering Pot
3 sprigs evergreen or handful pine needles
2 cinnamon sticks
2 TBS whole cloves
2 bay leaves
2 pieces orange rind
2 pieces lemon rind
Directions
Fill a saucepan with water and bring to a boil. Add the ingredients from your favorite recipe, boil for a few minutes, then turn the heat down to simmer all day. Top up water as needed.
Caution: Set your timer for 30 minutes so you remember to top up with water. You don’t want the pot burning dry. Do not leave the house with this left heating on the stove.

Check out the site, its filled with good ideas.
Have a very blessed day,
Lady of the Mote

Sounds divine...but with my allergies and asthma, I'll have to pass on adding the "greenery" to the pot!!!

Thanks for the visit!

this sounds so good! You know its one thing I've never done..no reason why. I have boiled seasonings to make cider and the aroma was wonderful. Thanks for sharing this site.

I agree so many beautiful homes are seen on the blogs...unreal. While I'm thankful to God for a roof over my head and I appreciate it beyond works--its nothing like I've seen...and I do think mostly its due to my lack of decorating! I do hope to learn so much more from these blogs!

You're so funny with your dialog from The Grinch. I read every word and it made me laugh.
Thanks for the potpourri recipe.

I do something similar only I don't add the evergreen and my orange and lemon are whole ones cut in half, and yes, it makes the house smell so festive!

I often gift the ingredients in either a net sack or a jar with instructions attached. It makes a nice gift.
